🗓️ Detailed 7-Day Do Dham Yatra Itinerary: Yamunotri & Gangotri

🚗 H3: Day 1: Arrival in Delhi/Dehradun – Sacred Welcome in Haridwar

Your spiritual journey begins as you arrive at Delhi Airport (DEL)Dehradun Airport (DED), or the Delhi/Dehradun/Haridwar Railway Station. Our Shamrock Journeys representative will greet you for a comfortable transfer to the holy city of Haridwar. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, experience the soul-stirring Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, where lamps float on the sacred Ganges amidst chants, marking a divine start to your Do Dham Yatra pilgrimage.

  • Shamrock Travel Tips: Dehradun is the nearest hub (50 km/1 hour), while Delhi is approximately 210 km (4-5 hours drive).

⛰️ Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot (Via Mussoorie & Kempty Falls)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Barkot, your base for Yamunotri. En route, enjoy a refreshing stop at the famous Kempty Falls in Mussoorie. Capture the beauty of this hill station before continuing to Barkot. Check into your hotel upon arrival and spend a relaxed evening amidst the serene mountain air, preparing for the first Dham.

🕉️ Day 3: Barkot – Yamunotri Dham (Source of Yamuna) – Barkot

Today, visit the first DhamYamunotri, the sacred source of the Yamuna River. Drive to Janki Chatti, then undertake a 6-km trek (or opt for a pony/palanquin) to the temple. Perform sacred rituals: take a purifying dip in the thermal springs of Jamunabai Kund, cook rice as an offering in the Surya Kund, and offer prayers at the Divya Shila and the ancient temple of Goddess Yamuna. Return to Barkot carrying blessed prasad.

🌿 Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi (Visit Vishwanath Temple)

After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi, often called the “Kashi of the North.” Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples, and the nearby Shakti Temple with its monumental trident. The town, situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi (Ganges), offers a profound spiritual ambiance, perfect preparation for Gangotri.

🌊 Day 5: Uttarkashi – Gangotri Dham (Source of Ganga) – Uttarkashi

Wake early for a spiritually charged drive to Gangotri, the celestial source of the Ganges. En route, take a holy dip at Garam Kund in Gangnani. Traverse the breathtaking Harsil Valley. At Gangotri, offer prayers at the temple, perform rituals on the banks of the Bhagirathi, and absorb the powerful serenity. The belief that a dip here absolves sins adds profound depth before returning to Uttarkashi.

🛶 Day 6: Uttarkashi to Rishikesh (The Yoga Capital)

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, the “Gateway to the Himalayas.” Visit iconic sites like Laxman Jhula and Triveni Ghat. In the evening, experience the grand, universally uplifting Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram—a beautiful spiritual culmination to your pilgrimage.

✈️ Day 7: Rishikesh – Departure from Dehradun/Delhi

After breakfast, your transformative 7-day Do Dham Yatra concludes. You will be driven to Dehradun Airport or Delhi Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying eternal blessings and memories.
