Do Dham Yatra Itinerary: Kedarnath and Badrinath

This is the day-by-day plan of the Do Dham Yatra Kedarnath Badrinath package.

Day 1: Delhi or Dehradun to Haridwar

We meet you in Delhi (about 220 km, five to six hours) or at Dehradun airport (about 40 km, one hour) and drive to Haridwar. In the evening, join the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.

Overnight: Haridwar

Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi

Drive about 200 km, seven to eight hours, past Rishikesh and Devprayag and up the Mandakini valley to Guptkashi. In the evening, visit the Ardh Narishwar temple.

Meals: breakfast and dinner. Overnight: Guptkashi

Day 3: Kedarnath Dham

Drive to Sonprayag and take the local shuttle to Gaurikund. Walk about 16 km, or ride a pony or palki, up to Kedarnath at about 3,583 metres. Join the evening Aarti at the temple.

Meals: breakfast and dinner. Overnight: Kedarnath

Day 4: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Join the early morning puja or Aarti, then walk or ride back down to Gaurikund and drive to Guptkashi to rest.

Day 5: Guptkashi to Badrinath

Drive about 200 km, seven to eight hours, via Joshimath to Badrinath on the Alaknanda river. In the evening, bathe in the hot spring of Tapt Kund and join the Aarti at the temple.

Day 6: Badrinath and Mana Village

Have darshan at Badrinath temple in the morning. Then visit Mana, the last village before the border, with Vyas Gufa, Bhim Pul and the place where the Saraswati river comes out of the rock.

Day 7: Badrinath to Rudraprayag or Rishikesh

Drive down past Karnaprayag and the river meetings to Rudraprayag, about 160 km, or, if the roads are clear, on to Rishikesh, about 300 km. In Rishikesh, join the evening Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan or Triveni Ghat.

Meals: breakfast and dinner. Overnight: Rudraprayag or Rishikesh

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, we take you to Dehradun airport or station, or to Delhi (about 240 km from Rishikesh, six hours). Your Do Dham Yatra Kedarnath Badrinath pilgrimage ends here.

Best Time for This Yatra

On the Do Dham Yatra Kedarnath Badrinath route, both temples open from about late April or May to October or November. May and June are pleasant but busy, so book three to four months ahead. July and August bring monsoon rain and landslides. September and October bring clear skies and fewer crowds.
