Shimla Manali Agra Tour Itinerary

This is the day-by-day plan of the Shimla Manali Agra tour.

Day 1: Arrive in Chandigarh or Kullu, Drive to Manali

We meet you at Chandigarh airport or station, about 280 km and seven hours from Manali, or at Kullu (Bhuntar) airport, about 55 km away. Check in to your hotel and rest.

Overnight: Manali

Day 2: Manali Sightseeing

Visit the Hadimba Temple in its cedar forest, the Manu Temple and Old Manali, the hot springs at Vashisht and the Tibetan monastery. In the evening, walk along the Mall Road.

Day 3: Solang Valley and Rohtang Pass

Drive to Solang Valley, about 14 km away, for snow in winter, and paragliding, zorbing and the cable car in summer. When the road is open, continue to Rohtang Pass. When it is closed, we take you through the Atal Tunnel to Sissu for snow views instead.

Day 4: Manali to Shimla through the Kullu Valley

Drive about 250 km, seven to eight hours, along the Beas River, past apple orchards and pine forests. Check in to your hotel in Shimla.

Day 5: Shimla and Kufri

Drive to Kufri, about 16 km away, for pony rides and snow in winter. In the afternoon, take a heritage walk past the Viceregal Lodge, the Gaiety Theatre, Christ Church and the Ridge.

Day 6: Shimla to Delhi

Drive to Delhi, about 350 km and eight hours, with a stop in Chandigarh on the way if time allows. Check in to your hotel in Delhi.

Day 7: Delhi and the Mughal Heritage of Old Delhi

Begin with a heritage walk in the Mughal walled city of Shahjahanabad, Old Delhi. See Jama Masjid, ride a rickshaw through Chandni Chowk and pass the Red Fort. In the afternoon, visit Humayun’s Tomb, the model for the Taj Mahal, and the Qutub Minar, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and drive past India Gate. In the evening, visit the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, a vast modern temple of carved pink stone and white marble.

Day 8: Delhi to Agra

Drive to Agra, about three to four hours. In the afternoon, visit Agra Fort and the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, known as the Baby Taj, gems of Mughal architecture. At sunset, see the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh across the river.

Day 9: Taj Mahal at Sunrise and Fatehpur Sikri

Day nine is the highlight of the Shimla Manali Agra tour. Rise early to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. After breakfast, enjoy a heritage walk in the Mughal heritage of Agra, with Akbar’s Tomb at Sikandra. Then drive about 40 km to Fatehpur Sikri for a heritage walk in the Mughal walled city of Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s lost capital.

Day 10: Departure from Agra or Delhi

After breakfast, we take you to Agra station or airport, or drive you back to Delhi airport, about 230 km and four hours. Your Shimla Manali Agra tour ends here.
