This is the day-by-day plan of the tour.

Day 1: Kochi Airport to Munnar

Your Kerala 7-day tour package begins at Kochi airport, where we meet you. Drive about 130 km, four hours, up into the Western Ghats, stopping at the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls and the first tea gardens. Check in and enjoy the cool evening air of Munnar.

Day 2: Munnar Sightseeing

Visit Eravikulam National Park, home of the rare Nilgiri tahr, with views towards Anamudi, the highest peak in South India. See how tea is made at the Tea Museum, then visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and Kundala Lake, and walk through the tea gardens.

Meals: breakfast. Overnight: Munnar

Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady

Drive about 90 km, around three hours, through cardamom hills to Thekkady. Walk through a spice plantation of cardamom, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg, and in the evening watch a Kalaripayattu martial arts show or a Kathakali performance.

Day 4: Periyar Lake and the Alleppey Houseboat

Day 4 is the highlight of the Kerala 7-day tour package. Take an early boat ride on Periyar Lake in the Periyar Tiger Reserve to look for elephants, deer and birds, or go bamboo rafting. Then drive about 140 km, four hours, to Alleppey and board your private houseboat. Cruise the backwaters past villages, churches and paddy fields, with a Kerala lunch and dinner cooked on board.

Day 5: Alleppey to Marari Beach

After breakfast on board, leave the houseboat and drive about 30 minutes to Marari, a quiet beach with palm groves and fishing villages. Relax on the sand and watch the sunset over the Arabian Sea.

Day 6: Marari at Leisure

Best Time for This Tour

September to March is the best time for our Kerala 7-day tour package, with cool, clear days in Munnar and calm backwaters. December and January are the busiest. June to August is the monsoon: green hills, waterfalls and lower prices, but rough seas at Marari. Eravikulam National Park closes for a few weeks each year, usually in February and March, when the tahr calves are born.
