This is the day-by-day plan of the Shimla Manali Chandigarh tour.

Day 1: Chandigarh or Delhi to Shimla

We meet you at Chandigarh airport or railway station, about 120 km and three hours from Shimla, or in Delhi, about 350 km and seven to eight hours away. Check in to your hotel. In the evening, walk along the Mall Road and the Ridge, past Christ Church.

Overnight: Shimla

Day 2: Shimla and Kufri

In the morning, drive to Kufri, about 16 km away, for pony rides, the Himalayan Nature Park and snow in winter. In the afternoon, take a heritage walk past the Viceregal Lodge and the Gaiety Theatre.

Day 3: Shimla to Manali through the Kullu Valley

After breakfast, drive about 250 km, seven to eight hours, along the Beas River through the Kullu Valley. Stop to see Kullu shawls being woven, or try river rafting in season. Check in to your hotel in Manali.

Day 4: Manali Sightseeing

Visit the Hadimba Temple in its cedar forest, the Manu Temple and Old Manali, the hot springs at Vashisht and the Tibetan monastery. In the evening, walk along the Mall Road.

Day 5: Solang Valley and Rohtang Pass

Day five is the highlight of the Shimla Manali Chandigarh tour. Drive to Solang Valley, about 14 km away, for snow in winter, and paragliding, zorbing and the cable car in summer. When the road is open, continue to Rohtang Pass at about 3,978 m. When it is closed, we take you through the Atal Tunnel to Sissu for snow views instead.

Day 6: Manali to Chandigarh

After an early breakfast, drive down the valley to Chandigarh, about 300 km and eight to nine hours. In the evening, walk by Sukhna Lake, the calm lake at the edge of the city.

Day 7: Chandigarh and Departure

Visit the Rock Garden, a park of sculptures made from waste by the artist Nek Chand, and see the Capitol Complex designed by Le Corbusier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from outside.
