Khajuraho 4-Day Tour Itinerary

This is the day-by-day plan of the Khajuraho 4-day tour package.

Day 1: Arrive in Khajuraho and the Western Group

We meet you at Khajuraho airport or station and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the Western Group with your guide: the Kandariya Mahadev temple, the largest and finest, built in the 11th century, the Lakshmana temple, the Jagdambi temple and the Chitragupta temple to the sun god. Visit the Archaeological Museum nearby. In the evening, watch the light and sound show, which tells the story of the Chandela kings.

Day 2: Eastern and Southern Groups, Adivart Museum and Raneh Falls

Visit the Eastern Group, with the Jain temples of Parsvanath, Adinath and Shantinath and the Hindu Javari and Brahma temples, and the Southern Group, with the Duladeo and Chaturbhuj temples. See tribal homes and folk art at the Adivart Tribal and Folk Art Museum. In the afternoon, drive about 20 km to Raneh Falls, where the Ken river flows through a deep canyon of red, pink and grey granite.

Day 3: Jeep Safari in Panna National Park

Leave early for Panna National Park, about 30 km away, for a morning jeep safari through teak forest and grassland, home to tigers, leopards, deer and many birds. Later, see Pandav Falls and its caves, or take a boat ride on the Ken river to see gharial crocodiles. Return to Khajuraho.

Day 4: Departure

Best Time for This Tour

October to March is the best time for the Khajuraho 4-day tour package, with pleasant days and Panna open for safaris. The Khajuraho Dance Festival is held every February. April to June is very hot, and Panna is closed for safaris from July to mid-October, when we replace the safari with Raneh Falls and the villages.
